5 BAP injection sites for the face

Profhilo is the newest generation of injectable skin moisturiser. It is based on a purified Hyaluronic acid formula with unique water binding properties. Our bodies own supply of Hyaluronic acid begins to tail off around our twenties, leaving the skin drier and more prone to signs of ageing and environmental damage.

Profhilo injections not only boost your skin hydration in a way that previously was not possible, it also increases collagen and elastin levels, that have been depleted due to age and environmental factors. The result is a visible reduction of fine lines with a glow and fresh and radiant look to your skin.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is pure Hyaluronic acid, that is being injected below the skin’s surface. It disperses across the area treated and acts as a powerful skin moisturiser due to the unique water binding properties of Hyaluronic acid. It additionally stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis, resulting in a rehydrated, firm look of your skin.

How is profhilo administered?

Profhilo is injected into the superficial subcutaneous layer of your skin. Depending on the area treated the manufacturer recommends specific injection protocols (e.g. 5-point BAP technique for the face, 10-point BAP technique for the neck).

How does Profhilo work?

After injection into the area of interest, the product disperses within the first 24 hours, restoring hydration of the skin, stimulating different types of collagen and increasing elastin levels. This results in a visible reduction of fine lines, improving the glow and complexion of the skin. Unlike dermal fillers or Botulinum Toxin A (Botox®), Profhilo does not shape the contours of the face or affect the movement of the facial expressions.

How often do I need Profhilo?

Most patients have 2 to 3 initial treatments spaced one month apart. In order to maintain a fresh and radiant look this should be repeated every 3 to 6 months.

What areas can be treated?

The most popular areas for Profhilo treatment include the face, neck, hands and décolletage.

Who is a good candidate for Profhilo?

Profhilo is recommended for patients with fine lines, dehydrated skin or an overall loss of radiance. It can be administered for both, preventative or corrective measures avoiding early signs of skin ageing.

What is the difference between Profhilo and dermal fillers?

Both Profhilo and dermal fillers are based on synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA). Traditional HA fillers contain chemical bonds that form a gel-like product, which enables us to lift, sculpt or contour tissues when injected into specific areas.

Profhilo is very different. Being based on pure hyaluronic acid without any chemical bonds, it disperses evenly into the injected plane of the skin. Different to dermal fillers, this does not change facial contours but instantly enhances hydration to the skin as well as stimulation of collagen formation and an increase of elastin levels.

Is Profhilo more powerful than a moisturising cream?

Profhilo has the highest concentration of Hyaluronic acid on the market. The substance has therefore unique water-binding properties. By injecting the product below the skin’s surface, you bybass the skin barrier and begin rehydration and skin stimulation immediately from within.
